We had a productive day, doing small group and finishing our planning for the new premises.

There was no Bible Study. Sharing this morning was about the old and the new.

On the old: How our practices at NLV are shaped by values that we hold dear and our beliefs. But this was somewhat perceieved as superfluous. After all, ’tis better to demonstrate (model) rather than teach, and not just talk only! The “Students are correcting the “Master”. Great. But no matter, that’s the essence of what makes us different and important enough to keep repeating!

Here’s a “recap” of the practices at New Life Vineyard that are shaped by our values/beliefs (in bold).

God is real and desires an intimate and close relationship with you Therefore during our Service we:
Sing songs to God (not just sing about God)
Wait, expecting him to turn up, speak and heal
Worship time is premium time, not a “filler” for the sermon or Bible Study
And in our new life in Christ, we wish to:
Develop a conversational relationship with him, and
Trust in all his promises, i.e Have faith for future grace!

We are already and not yet people of (the Kingdom of God)
Therefore we are at war with an enemy and want to be obedient to:
Doing the stuff (PHD – Proclaim the gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons), and
Train (engage in the Spiritual disciplines)

Fellowship
The New Testament model prescribes a community where we love and encourage one another, and provide:
A sanctuary from a world which is not what God had meant it to be
For growth by making disciples (saving lives) and ministering to broken-ness

As for the new: When our new premises are ready, we shall start and hold weekly Sunday Worship Services there. Full worship band weekly. No extra small group meetings (at other times) for the moment. As mentioned above we have the broad plan agreed upon for the design and furnishing. That includes layouts for a worship service area to seat 30 to 50 pax and a “living room – like home” area. And color schemes and lighting. The budget and contractors are to be determined next. Jon will research and provide referrals of latter. After exact measurement are taken by Jon and Sab.
