Friends and relatives of my mother in-law who came to the wake all spoke about her as a kind and simple person who loved the Lord and her family, dearly.
She would do her devotions faithfully. She looked forward to communion, and she enjoyed the worship and fellowship at church. Prayers for her meant a great deal to her and brought her comfort. She was a kind person simply because she reflected the love of God in her life.
She loved her family very much and spent much time enquiring about the ones who were busy and giving accounts about the children. She had great joy whenever the family could assemble for a meal or go on an outing. She was so proud of everyone’s achievements.
As I recall my own relationship with Mama, I can truthfully say that she was very good to me, very considerate of me. She was always deferential to me so much so whenever Susan wanted to make a point with her she would (to my chagrin) say that that was something which I had said too. Some said that she was a very proper person, and in a way this meant that she would be concerned about not inconveniencing me and being very gracious to thank me even when I give her a ride home in the car from church. I will sorely miss the smiles she always had for me.

Thank you Lord for the life of Mama, who although in her later years became hard of hearing, I am sure that her spiritual ears turned to actively listen out to the Good Shepherd’s voice even more. We are comforted to know that while she was weak in her physical body, You have now made her strong in her glorified one. She has now joined in the ranks of the great cloud of witnesses and is still cheering us on. She has always been faithfully cheering us on… and to that we are filled with thanksgiving.

Lord, I thank You for Ah Ma and I praise You for showing Your love through her motherly affection for others around her.
Lord, comfort those grieving for her and bring strength to us as we remembered that Ah Ma’s greatest desire was to serve You. Amen!
