A roof for Ari’s home
Early this year NLV provided funds to Ari to replace the sheet over her home with a proper roof. Ari is an Indonesian.
Hostel for rural kids
Two Sundays ago, Nigel shared at NLV about our coming alongside to help the children hostel in Chiang Mai that houses and looks after 36 kids whom go to primary school. Nigel and Sing Yong have been relating to Ms Tamra, the “house mistress” for some time already.
Tamra sees this work as a ministry and accordingly not only gives care but also introduces the children to the gospel through songs and other means. The children come from the surrounding rural area and don’t really have the means to pay for the hostel facility. Tamra’s church provides support for the basic upkeep of the home.
Nigel feels that the provision for Tamra herself is inadequate. Furthermore Nigel hopes that we could befriend and sponsor 5 of the children (see below) whom are due to leave this home as they will be moving on to high school.
This is definitely something that we want to be a part of!
